Food diary and weekly trends
See today’s calories and macros, and how your week is going.
Log with almost no effort
Log a product or recipe in a couple of taps — or none: when you mark a planned meal eaten, it is logged automatically.
Log food opens on what you usually eat at that meal, and the + beside one logs it at once with the last amount. Logging food explains every part of the sheet, step by step.
When the food comes from your pantry, Mealuna asks first and lowers the pantry for you — see Where did the food come from?
The diary lives on your device and is never uploaded to Mealuna. A food you log from the pantry lowers your group's pantry, so the other members see the new pantry amount — never your diary. Your phone's own backup can include it, and we recommend turning that on — on Android with a screen lock the backup is encrypted with a key that stays on your phone, so neither Google nor Mealuna can read it.
Logging foodYour day at a glance
The Menu tab shows how today is going: calories and macros against your goal, paced to the time of day — so a light morning does not look like a failure at noon.
Your daily goal and the calories you burn come from your body profile in My data: sex, date of birth, height and weight, with your activity and goal. If sex, date of birth and height were never saved, the Menu tab asks for them once.
Weekly trends
Open the trend view for weekly charts: calories against your goal, and how your macros have moved. Use it to spot patterns, not to judge single days.
On your home screen (Premium)
Add a Mealuna widget to your home screen and see today without opening the app. “Calories left” shows what is left of your daily goal, your pace and your macros; made wider, it adds your energy balance and a bar for each macro. “Energy balance” (small) shows what you ate against what you burned.
Tap the widget to open the food diary, or tap Log to add food right away. With Apple Health or Health Connect connected, the widget reads the energy you burn by itself, on your phone, so that number stays fresh even when the app is closed. With Health Connect, Mealuna asks once for permission to read in the background — the next time you open it after adding the widget. Allow it, or the widget shows the burned energy from when you last had Mealuna open. Like the diary itself, what the widget shows stays on your phone.
To add one, touch and hold an empty spot on your home screen, tap Edit and then Add Widget — or Widgets, depending on your phone — and choose Mealuna. For the wider “Calories left”, pick the wider size or stretch the widget.
