Shopping in the store
Which store is cheaper
Price the same list in every store you use - and see what a cheap total is hiding.

What it does
Open Compare stores from the store view and Mealuna prices your whole list in each store you have switched on, side by side. It is the same list every time, so the totals are comparable.
- The store you are currently in is marked, so you can see what switching would cost you.
- Every store is priced from the products Mealuna matched or you approved in that store.
A cheap total can be hiding something
A store that does not stock two of your items will always look cheaper, because those two items cost it nothing. That is why the total is never shown on its own.
- Missing tells you how many rows that store has no product for.
- Substitutions tells you how many rows are a stand-in rather than your own choice.
- Reliability tells you how much of the basket rests on products you picked yourself. Rows you approved are certain; rows Mealuna matched on its own are not.
- The store does not sell less means that store sells at least one of your items only from a larger amount — for example from 3 kg — so its total is for more than your list asked.
Unit prices, not just the sum
Pack sizes differ between stores, so the sum alone can mislead. Mealuna also compares price per kilo or litre across the rows where both stores sell a comparable pack, and tells you how many rows that covers.
- Unit prices: cheapest means that store wins on price per unit across those rows.
- A percentage means it is that much more expensive per unit than the cheapest one.
- If pack sizes cannot be lined up at all, Mealuna says so rather than guessing.
Make the comparison certain
Reliability rises as you approve products. Swipe a row right and choose Suits me in each store, and when every row is your own choice the comparison is certain rather than an estimate.
- Swipe a row right and choose Suits me to make that product your own choice in that store.
- Reliability counts the money, not the rows: approving your most expensive items moves it fastest.
What the comparison cannot see
Some stores give personal discounts that only appear once you are signed in to them. Mealuna cannot read those, and says so on the comparison, so treat the numbers as the shelf price rather than your final receipt.
- Loyalty card prices are used where you have told Mealuna you hold that store's card.
- The comparison shows you the difference; which store you actually drive to is your call.
