Using the barcode scanner

Scan a product

Open the scanner and point your camera at a product barcode. Mealuna looks it up in its own product data and in Open Food Facts, then fills in the name and brand. Where available, it also attaches nutrition information to the product.

With Premium you can also scan without adding anything: see "Scan to compare in the shop".

• Tap the scan button on your list or pantry
• Hold the barcode steady in the frame
• Confirm the matched product to add it

If a product is not found

If a barcode is not recognized, you can still add the item by name from the catalog or as a custom entry. Mealuna's catalog grows as products are scanned and confirmed by the community.
